In September 2006, Biotop joined AsianLiverCenter at Stanford University (ALC) and Chinese Foundation for Hepatitis Prevention and Control (CFHPC) to launch the Qinghai vaccination project which will cover 60,000 school age children in 331 schools. The project kicked off on September 5, 2006 and will continue until April 2007. According to ALC, the vaccine completion rate of this ongoing project is expected to reach to 95% with an 80% increase in hepatitis B prevention education knowledge levels. The Qinghai vaccination project has been arranged under the auspices of ALC, CFHPC, ZheShan Foundation and Biotop while a variety of governmental departments and agencies joined forces.

In partnership with CFHPC and provincial CDC and health departments in Qinghai, ALC initiated a catch-up vaccination program in 2004 to vaccinate about 3,500 grade-school children in Sichuan province with Hooksafe™ safety syringes provided by Biotop. In Sep 2006, Biotop commence the second phase of this partnership through the launch of Qinghai vaccination project and education programs which is targeted at the health care workers in Qinghai. Aside from supplying Qinghai vaccine project with safety syringes, Biotop also provided assistance in the training/educational section to update the local staff from local CDC and healthcare work stations with the latest knowledge on Hep B prevention so as to increase the public awareness.
