As of July 2006, Biotop has partnered with various non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and institutes to promote the use of safety syringes and to further ensure safe injections worldwide.
1. Asian Liver Center (ALC) at Stanford University
Starting in 2005, Biotop has been the official syringe sponsor for ALC, specifically for ALC’s China Hepatitis B projects, until the year 2010. The Asian Liver Center (ALC) at Stanford University is a non-profit organization that addresses the high incidence of hepatitis B and liver cancer in Asians and Asian-Americans. Founded in 1996, ALC spearheads educational outreach and advocacy efforts in the areas of hepatitis B and liver cancer prevention and treatment.
In China specifically, the ALC has collaborated with various Chinese government agencies to develop model HBV vaccination programs providing free hepatitis B vaccination for over 100,000 school age children in the last 2 years. The China Government in partnership with Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI) has instituted a policy of providing newborns free hepatitis B vaccination since 2003. ALC is working to vaccinate those children that did not receive newborn vaccination. Accordingly, both GAVI and China have recently agreed to extend free vaccination for children under 3 years of age and have adopted some of the strategies that ALC have developed in China.

2. The Global Alliance for Vaccine and Immunization (GAVI)
In 2005 Biotop has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the China MOH with respect to the procurement of 500 million safety syringes which would be used for the hepatitis B vaccine project which is initiated by the Global Alliance for Vaccine and Immunization (GAVI) and the Chinese CDC.
The GAVI is a coalition of organizations launched in 1999 in response to stagnating global immunization rates and widening disparities in vaccine access among industrialized and developing countries. The GAVI partners include the multinational agencies, bilateral agencies, international development banks, foundations, pharmaceutical industry, NGOs, and most crucially, the national government health programs. The GAVI Working Group Working includes nine members, representing WHO; UNICEF; the World Bank; the GAVI Secretariat; the Global Fund for Children’s Vaccines; the Gates Children’s Vaccine Program at PATH, the University of Maryland School of Medicine, USAID; and Wyeth-Ayerst Labs.

3. International Association of Safe Injection Technology (IASIT)
Biotop has become a member of International Association of Safe Injection Technology (IASIT) since Dec 2005. The IASIT is an industry association established in Switzerland in 2001 and composed of manufacturers/members dedicated to bringing safe injection technologies to the market. The IASIT aims to promote the use of the most immediate and efficient methods to ensure safe injections worldwide. Being a member of IASIT, Biotop is able to have access to certain global conferences/tenders, notably the “Safe Injection Global Network” (SIGN) alliance and Making Medical Injections Safer (MMIS) program which was initiated by WHO and USAID respectively.
